We are regenerating Africa's rich natural and cultural heritage through community-driven storytelling.

The African School of Storytelling is an organization based in Tanzania. We are dedicated to community driven storytelling so as to preserve Africa’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

Since 2020, we have been collaborating with indigenous communities and emerging filmmakers to tell authentic stories.

Each year, we train individuals who are passionate about filmmaking to create their own films that reflect African nature and culture through our all-expenses-paid workshops.

Our emerging filmmakers are exposed to premium filmmaking equipment and have access to professional mentors, allowing them to not only hone their skills but also connect with the culture of the community.

Since 2021, we’ve trained over 50 individuals from across Africa in professional filmmaking and photography. Our mentorship programs, conducted both on land and underwater, have cultivated a vibrant alumni community of skilled professionals ready to transform moments and create lasting memories.

See how our training has empowered individuals to capture and preserve unforgettable moments.

Our dedication to narrating genuine stories extends beyond our training of upcoming filmmakers; we have gone above and beyond to empower the community to narrate their own stories.

We have been able to supply filming equipment and train indigenous communities on how to use it to produce amazing visuals because of our relationship with them. By doing this, we learn about deeply rooted stories within the community.

To have the biggest impact, we at AFRISOS think that storytelling should be innovative and inclusive. We have collaborated with stakeholders in many industries and conservation NGOs to provide lasting cultural heritage narratives for the next generation.

Organizations and interested parties are welcome to support our cause.
