General Entry rules
To ensure a fair and transparent competition, entrants must adhere to the following guidelines:
Open to all African nationals.
Team entries of two or more photographers are permitted.
Photographers must be the original creators of the submitted photographs.
Entrants must be the copyright holders or have legal authorization from the copyright holders to submit the images.
Participants under 18 must provide a Parental Consent Form with their submission.
Technical Requirements
Format: Entries must be submitted in JPEG or PNG format.
Resolution: Minimum 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). Higher resolutions are encouraged.
Compression: Submissions should maintain high quality. Excessively compressed or pixelated images will be disqualified.
Editing: Basic edits (color correction, cropping, exposure adjustments) are allowed, but AI-generated images and AI-based enhancement tools (e.g., Adobe Super Resolution, Topaz Photo AI) are strictly prohibited.
Originality: Only single-frame photographs are allowed. No collages, composites, or digitally manipulated images beyond standard adjustments.
Metadata: Each entry must include a title, caption, and description in English, providing context about the photo’s subject, motivation, and significance.
Restricted Access: Photos taken at private or restricted-access events without proper authorization are not eligible.
Eligibility: Members of the Organizing Partners and the jury are not eligible to participate.
