Project Manager

(Full-Time)

Using formal project management software, the Project Manager will track the various high to low level tasks of the NGO as will be instructed by the Director. It is the Project Manager’s responsibility to be able to report the updated status of any project that has been assigned, including: milestones, dependencies, upcoming obstacles, resources allocation, forecasts of estimated dates of completion for each task and any other project related data points.

The Project Manager will also suggest solutions to the Director and ensure that implementation of any key initiatives is on-time and within budget. He/She will be working alongside other AFRISOS staff members as needed to ensure AFRISOS Goals are achieved.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the Director on Project Setup, Launch, Monitoring, alerting all parties involved as to what risks are evident and proactive updates and solution recommendations to keep the projects on track.

  • Assist on setting up logistics for any project/program assigned by the director

  • Provide Required Reporting on NGO Compliance of all Resource Allocation and Usage of each project staying in compliance with Tanzanian and foreign government requirements necessary.

  • Tax Authorities

  • Licensing Authorities (Permits and Fees)

  • Any other regulatory body required.

  • Manage Financial record keeping to be Tanzanian Accounting Best Practices

  • Manage all activities related to Program Mentors, Mentees, Community Participants for each project; if required.

  • Ensure AFRISOS is in compliance with all reporting required to present evidence back to Donors, Grants and Sponsors of fiscal responsibility, efficient use of funds received and beneficial impact accomplished with these funds.  Including:

    • Operational Expenditures

    • Programs Expenditures

    • Capital Improvements

  • Support the Director and Chairman on special projects or other assignments as delegated from time to time by the Director.

Qualifications:

  • College or Higher Level Education Certification is preferred

  • Previous Experience in NGO organizations in a community based Project Management role.

  • Previous experience working with financial tasks, bookkeeping and able to forecast budgets and track expenses effectively.

  • Knowledge of Grant and other NGO legal compliance rules and capable of performing management reporting online for Government Compliance.

  • Strong Commitment in AFRISOS Vision and Mission

  • Able to effectively communicate with all educational levels of people from CEOs, Government officials to individuals with no education.

  • Is fluent in Reading, Writing and Speaking in Swahili and English.

  • Has good Character, works well with others, and is a team participant.

  • Trustworthy, Honest, Friendly, Organized, Patient, yet Goal driven

  • Takes Initiative, proactively solves problems and overcomes challenges.
